The actual math of 'DTUs per gram per Kelvin' is really finicky and somewhat changed for gameplay and computation reasons for ONI, but the principle is the same. The rate at which this happens is determined by the Thermal Conductivity of the material, and if two have different rates, the slower rate is always used. So it does heat up the biome, but at an extremely slow rate. They come in blocks of 1000KG(or 1,000,000 grams iirc), so raising the temperature of one block would require 790,000 DTUs, or enough to cool ten tiles of oxygen down just for one degree of granite. Look at Granite(the most common mineral in the ice biome), it has a SHC of 0.790. To cool one tile of 1800 grams of oxygen from 40C to 0C, you would need to remove 1800*40*1.005 = 72360 DTUs from it. That's how many units of heat it needs to heat or cool one gram one degree. Look at oxygen, it has a Specific Heat Capacity of 1.005. >Is there any information on how this works and at what speed? Farm plot and 4000g phosporite per cycle now. For now I'm just playing chill, I don't want to bother with heat management even more considering that they have nerfed the worts. I do like that you have more control on the rerolls so you can do shit like this now. The only problem I had was the excess of C02, because that's where I was dumping my heat, but that's only because I couldn't be bothered to play past cycle 60/70+ and try to reach the top of the map to dump everything in space. #Infinifactory shuttle propulsion units fullI'm replaying the game since the full release and they changed a bunch of stuff so I can't really say what works or won't, but for the previous build I know that you can, theoretically, survive with just basic setups without having to use water sieve bullshit. By playing by yourself you will probably find the heh-good-enough setup that works for you and just roll with it. I suggested testing by yourself because from my experience half if not more of the crazy-long-ass-perfect-setup people talk about or that you see on youtube don't work, or most of the time rely on exploits. Just my opinion but I think creative mode for this game kind of kills the point. Unless you plan to hard test mid-late machines you don't have to use it. >Do I really have to go into rigorous creative mode testing?
